Plan a Children's Birthday Party

Rule of thumb for the number of guests: the child's age plus one.

Tick off or move boxes when completed.

Choose a theme with the child (e.g. pirates, space, football)

Write the guest list

Make or print them, hand them out, and request replies by DD.MM.

Ask about guests' allergies

Cake ingredients, snacks, drinks, candles

Decorations and balloons

Small game prizes and party bags

Plan 2 to 3 games and keep 2 in reserve

For good weather: prepare an outdoor option

Blindfolded pot game, musical statues, chocolate-marshmallow eating contest, drawing game

Treasure hunt with stations, sack race, egg-and-spoon race

Read aloud or show a short film to help everyone settle down before collection

3:00 p.m. arrival and presents

3:30 p.m. cake

4:00 p.m. games

5:15 p.m. dinner (pizza or sausages)

6:00 p.m. collection with party bags

Keep parents' mobile numbers to hand and be aware of allergies

Share photos with the parents (only by agreement)

Ask the child: What did you enjoy most?
